From Jennifer Wasmer:

“My intention for the retreat was to connect more deeply with myself, Nature and God. Eileen created a safe and strong container where this was possible in ways I could never have imagined. She is a master yogini, a spiritual teacher, and a magnet for sincere and dedicated seekers. Even in a room of 18 people, Eileen was attuned to each participant, offering individual support while lifting up the whole group. The exquisite Asturian countryside and lovely hotel created a beautiful context for inquiry and awakening. The fruits of this retreat just keep coming, and I trust that they will continue to reveal themselves for some time to come.”

From Darlene Graham:

What a wonderful retreat! It was so much more wonderful then I imagined it to be.  Starting off with safe travel, joining others in Oviedo and to begin our week off with such beautiful mountains surrounding us, only added to the bountiful journey we were about to undertake.  Eileen tastefully planned each day filled with yogic practice and sutras, meditation, connections with each other as well as wonderful and challenging hikes.  Many of us were at different levels in our practice and hiking abilities, and were given choices each day to decide what suited us.  Eileen, it was more than what I expected and thank you from the bottom of my heart.  What a great group of people! Thank you all for connection, laughter, heart felt warmth and wisdom.”

From Annie Grosser
“Your enthusiasm, depth of practice and generous spirit made this the best yoga retreat I’ve ever been on, and I’ve been on many. Thank you Eileen for teaching from your heart and sharing your joy in the practice and in this beautiful corner of Spain. I am so grateful to have been part of the retreat. It was a pleasure to meet everyone. We were a harmonious group, attentive and caring towards each other, which added safety and fun.”

From Eileen Daugherty:

“I am still basking in the glow of an amazing week spent on retreat in what has to be some of the most beautiful landscapes in all of Europe.   This trip was offered as a Yoga/Meditation/Pranayama and Hiking retreat and it certainly met every one of those expectations.

From the initial group pick up at the Oviedo Bus Station to the final drop off back at the airport, the whole operation ran very smoothly.

We had beautiful accommodations at hotel Fuentes de Lucia.   The rooms were comfortable and well appointed. Our host, Juan Carlos, provided us with delicious vegetarian meals, including some ingredients from his own garden. The dining room very comfortably held our large group and provided us with a stunning view of the mountains.   A covered patio provided a nice area to visit or read and was our gathering spot for hikes!

The yoga studio, not surprisingly, was a favorite building of mine.   Imagine it now in the quiet of the mountains.  Fresh air. No traffic.  The occasional sound of a rooster or a dog.  Peacefulness all around.   The bells would ring out the end of meditation and yoga class would begin.

This is where Eileen would work her magic!  Eileen had a group of Yoga Sutras from Patanjali, that would be our spiritual theme of the class each day.  The group had a wide range of yoga experience and so modifications or prop adjustments would be made as needed.   Everyone could participate in every class at some level.   Eileen Muir is at her best when she is teaching a yoga class and this week was no different.

After breakfast, it was time to hike. The scenery here is SO amazing, you will want to hike. We had a wonderful guide that led us on the longer hikes later in the week.  The hikes were challenging, but doable, especially with a wonderfully supportive group around you.   My favorite part of each hike was hiking together in silence for the first hour each day. Upon returning from hiking, we would do a short inversion class followed by some pranayama.   It was just the remedy to recharge the legs and refresh your mind and soul.   And, as a bonus, for those that were so inclined, Eileen led a Sutra discussion on the day’s sutras. It was a lovely way to end the day and head off to dinner.

I’d like to emphasize that the schedule was in place and you were free to pick and choose what pieces worked for you to make it your retreat. For me, the highlight of the retreat was the wonderful group of people I was fortunate enough to come to know.  We began as a disparate group with a wide range of experience, in yoga, in hiking and in life.   We grew as a group through asana, and sutra discussions, and songs on the trail. I am better for the shared experience.  A lot of thought and attention to detail went into this retreat.   Thank you Eileen Muir.  All your work paid off… it was a beautiful week.”
