Moving from Spring to Summer

with Senior Iyengar Teacher Rajashree Tupe

We will delve into the stability of the pelvic girdle using the spinal rotations of the standing and seated twisting group of asanas as we move from Spring to Summer. As a family of asanas, twists are helpful to aid in the release of excess kapha after winter to make the body light for summer. Breathing techniques will be applied in these asanas and aid one to overcome allergies due to pollen and improve respiratory endurance.

Rajashree Tupe is the founder of Shriyog Institute in Pune and one of the senior disciples of Guruji BKS Iyengar. She trained with Guruji at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI), Pune, beginning in 1993. She was privileged to have closely worked and trained with Guruji’s son Shri. Prashant Iyengar and daughter Dr.Geeta Iyengar. Her mission is to carry forward the subject of Yoga through asana and pranayama as taught by Guruji BKS Iyengar. In her classes, Rajashree follows the principles of constitution, seasonal conduct, and daily conduct as stated by Ayurveda and spirituality on the basis of the Bhagavad Gita.
