About Iyengar Yoga
Iyengar Yoga is precise, safe and good for all ages and conditions of student. At Karuna, we emphasize high quality teaching. All of our teachers are long-term practitioners and experienced teachers dedicated to ongoing education.
At this Centre we teach yoga postures from the basics for beginners through to an advanced level. The Iyengar method was developed by B.K.S. Iyengar of Pune, India. This approach encompasses the eight limbs of yoga, tonifying the internal organs and creating a dynamic balance between flexibility, strength and spiritual upliftment. It emphasizes correct alignment, use of breath, and therapeutics. An intentional overall awareness of body, mind, and spirit contributes to greater mindfulness, equanimity and personal growth on and off the yoga mat.
